[ SHOCKINGLY, papika is having difficulty going to sleep after the events of the trial. perhaps she had too much pizza and now has an upset stomach? maybe she is traumatized for life after the cannibal reveal? who knows.
either way, she's going to quietly leave her room. she's not entirely sure what she's looking for, but she still ends up poking her head into every one of the hotel's common rooms until she reaches the lounge. spotting percy inside, she realizes that it wasn't a what, but a who.
somewhat shyly, papika walks over to where he's sitting. ]
Hi Percy.
either way, she's going to quietly leave her room. she's not entirely sure what she's looking for, but she still ends up poking her head into every one of the hotel's common rooms until she reaches the lounge. spotting percy inside, she realizes that it wasn't a what, but a who.
somewhat shyly, papika walks over to where he's sitting. ]
Hi Percy.
no subject
[ she sounds insulted that he would even ask that. ]
no subject
Sorry, I'm so used to asking that. ...you know how Damian's the Bounty Leader? We found the rest of the Bounties. And...Natalie and Shinnosuke were helping us. So's Jason. The other two are Milla and Noctis.
You can trust these people.
no subject
Do you guys have any ideas then?
no subject
Did Damian tell you about the train, Papika?
no subject
No. I haven't really been told much, you guys like to baby me.
no subject
It's not about babying you, Papika. It's about keeping you safe because...I mean, Dr. Lecter and Will are crazy. Will knew everything about this game, and we figured the less people who had information, the safer they'd be.
[He frowns.] The train is where all of our friends are. When we die, we show up there. That's why some of us are getting letters and stuff. Xion told me once. Milla did, too.
no subject
[ she doesn't anything after that for a good few seconds. when she does talk again, it's to tackle the other topic. ]
That explains why more shadows kept appearing.
no subject
But you're right. That's why more shadows kept appearing. All of our friends are hanging out in there waiting for us. We just have to figure out a way to be with them again. That's what we're working on now.
no subject
also wtf everyone else just hanging out in a train sounds so much better than sitting in whole ass? unfair?? ]
I'm sure you'll figure something out. You're very smart, Percy. And so is everyone else, but... if anyone can think of something, I think you can.
no subject
Let me ask you something else. What would you want in the end?
no subject
I just want everyone to be able to go back home. Whatever home is for them. [ ... ] Asking for something like this to never happen again is probably not possible, huh?
no subject
I think that's what I want, too. There are a lot of people here that home probably isn't an option for them anyway. After everything, we should have the choice. [But there's a shrug.] I don't know. What would hurt in asking though? I've asked for bigger things at home before and that worked out weirdly well.
We'd have to be careful how we ask, I think. Wording is everything.
no subject
[ since... true, she wouldn't put it past hal or his employers to screw them over just because they phrase their request in a certain way. and papika is fairly aware of the power words have. ]
no subject
no subject
[ and she's not sure how else they could word it, anyway. ]
I need to go back home to Cocona.
no subject
Who's Cocona?
no subject
or
anything at all about her life at home WHOOPS it's fine ]
She's my partner.
no subject
A partner, huh? [He's thinking Cocona's like an Annabeth, really.] What are you guys doing back home?
no subject
We were looking for fragments of something that'll grant a wish. She was... kind of mad at me though, right before I was brought here.
no subject
...what happened? That made her mad, I mean.
no subject
[ there's a brief look of disbelief on papika's face like she's having trouble wrapping her head around that concept. ]
Mimi is a good friend of mine, but Cocona's... different. She's super, duper important! But, um, I woke up on the train before I could explain that to her.
no subject
...I don't know, sometimes girls are weird. [Percy, Papika is a girl in case you forgot.] I have a friend, name's Rachel. We've known each other for a couple of years and sometimes Annabeth would get really mad at me for talking to Rachel, too. She stopped after we started dating and got that Rachel wouldn't replace her though. [It just took him a while to figure it out.]
When we get out of here, you'll be able to explain everything to Cocona. Are you going to tell her about this place?
spends a full minute laughing @ percy jackson
[ exactly how do you explain to someone you were thrust into the wild wild west version of the hunger games?? ]
She never liked it when I got hurt, she almost stopped going on adventures with me because of it. [ ... ] Maybe? It might depend on how she takes the other stuff I have to tell her first.
I figured if anyone would appreciate it it would be you tbqh
You have time to figure everything out. Maybe write her a letter while you're here so you know exactly what to tell her when you see her again. Some people have been doing that around here. [Another pause.] Natalie wrote a letter to a bunch of us before she died. It's not a bad idea.
[...wait though.] I don't get it though, why would she stop going on adventures with you just because you got hurt? Wouldn't that be more reason to stick together?
no subject
at his question though, the frown just deepens. papika has tried to explain this to several others before, and none of them has really got it. she wonders if she should just approach the topic from a different angle. ]
The fragments we were collecting... they're in another world, and only certain people can go to it. I can only go there if I'm with Cocona, so if she decides to stop, then for her, we wouldn't be doing dangerous stuff anymore. [ a pause. ] She didn't want to do it at all at first. The first few times we visited it was on accident so she didn't have a choice.
